The choreographer and ballet mistress Vesna Orlic was born in Belgrade, where she graduated from “Lujo Davico” Ballet school. In 1985 she joined the Ballet of the National Theatre in Sarajewo. In 1987 she was engaged by the Ballet of the Vienna Volksopera where she was appointed Demi-soloist in 1995. From 2005 to 2008 she was Demi-soloist of the Ballet of Vienna State Opera and Volksopera. Vesna Orlic celebrated her greatest success as a dancer in the role of Swanilda in Susanne Kirnbauers “Coppélia”, in main parts of Kirnbauers “Tausendundeine Nacht” as well as in “Katharina Schratt” (in Bad Ischl) and in Iván Markós “Bolero”. Beyond that she worked together with choreographers like Kim Duddy, Liz King and Giorgio Madia.

In 2006 – under ballet director Gyula Harangozó – she was appointed rehearsal assistant and in 2008 rehearsal assistant and teacher of the Ballet of Vienna State Opera and Volksopera. Beside her numerous activities her assistance of Iván Markó at the Festival of Bayreuth has to be mentioned.
As a choreographer she made her debut in 2006. In the course of the production “choreo.lab 06” of the Ballet Club of Vienna State Opera and Volksopera  she created “Buenos Aires Hora Cero“ (music: Astor Piazzolla), for choreo.lab 08 she created „Parfum“ (music: Gotan Project), for choreo.lab 09 „Broken Wings“ (music: Sacred Spirit).
With “Carmina Burana” (music: Carl Orff) Vesna Orlic gave her highly successful debut as choreographer for the Vienna State Ballet at the Vienna Volksopera. In April 2013 she celebrated with “Out of Tango” (music: Helmut Hödl) her second premiere with the Vienna State Ballet at the Vienna Volksopera. In October 2013 she will open the new season with the first premiere „Tausendundeine Nacht“ (music: Nikolai Andrejewitsch Rimski-Korsakow)  in an ballet evening called “Märchenwelt Ballett” for the Ballet of Vienna State Ballet in the Vienna Volksopera.
